Micheal J. Ensley, 65 of Whiting, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 2 pm Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue. Visitation with the family present one hour prior to service.
Micheal James Ensley was born on November 8, 1949 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Donald and Betty (Card) Ensley. He graduated from the Riverside High School in 1968.
On April 5, 1969, Micheal was united in marriage to Gloria Gilbertson in Sioux City. Micheal began his career working for Iowa Power, later renamed Mid-America Energy in 1969. He was stationed in North Sioux City, and later in Des Moines, Glenwood, Red Oak and Villisca. After retiring in 2006, they moved to Diamond City, Arkansas until moving to Whiting in 2009.
Micheal enjoyed sports and was very active in promoting youth sports. He was extremely proud of the way his kids and grandchildren have turned out. Besides sports, Micheal enjoyed horse riding and fishing.
Micheal is survived by his wife Gloria; 1 son David Ensley and his wife Wendy of Glenwood; 2 daughters, Teresa and her husband Darin Kraus of Sioux City and Jo and her husband Mark Kisling of Sioux City; his grandchildren, Benjamin Ensley, Samantha Ensley, Zach Kraus, Chloe Kraus, Kale Kisling and Michael Kisling; and 1 sister, Kathy “Tubby” Steeg, of Diamond City, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
