Michael S. “Fat Cat” Speece, 63 of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, with Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home.

Michael Steven Speece was born on July 1, 1952 in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Melvin and Dora (Teller) Speece. At the age of two, his family moved to Sioux City. He attended Riverside High School. Michael worked in the construction trade all of his life.

Michael loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and boating. He lived his life to the fullest. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Michael is survived by the person closest to his heart, Barb Sitzman; his daughters Michelle (Pat) Clay, Teresa Speece and Amber Speece; several grandchildren; his brother Gary (Cindy) Speece and his sister, Janie (Vern) Marine and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Melvin Speece and his mother Dora and her husband George Smith.
