Obituary

Michael Wayne Kuhlmann, age 64, of Sioux City died Sunday June 3, 2012 at his residence.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00am at the Missouri River Boat Club in Sioux City with interment following in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.
Mike was born on April 24, 1948 in Blair, Nebraska. His parents were Henry and Wilma (Erlewine) Kuhlmann. He graduated in 1967 from Central High School. In January of 1970, he entered the Army and saw service in Vietnam. Mike was married to Michele Crane in Elk Point, South Dakota in 1973. They later divorced. During 1986 he was married to Beverly Mattas. They were later divorced.

Mike was currently a Customer Service Representative for the City of Sioux City. He had worked over 29 years employed with the city.

Mike always was working on something, whether it was drafting or just sketching remodeling jobs for his or his family’s homes, to fixing up his Chevy. He collected and enjoyed practice shooting with his gun collection.

Mike was a member of the Missouri River Boat Club of Sioux City.

Mike is survived by his daughters Amber and her husband Calvin Cerv of Winner, South Dakota and Tiffany and her husband Aaron Bonnes of Sioux City, his step-daughters Nicole and her husband Kenny Cakebread of Merrill, Iowa, Dawn Twohig of Sioux City and Laura and her husband Teddy Brown of Winner, South Dakota; his step-son, Jamie Mattas and his wife Rebecca of Sioux City; his special friend Ruth McGinnis of Sioux City; his mother, Wilma “Billie” Kuhlmann of Tekamah, Nebraska; his brother, Henry Kuhlmann and his special friend Don Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska; his sister Mickey Larson of Tekamah, Nebraska; 17 grandchildren; and his two dogs, Chevy and Winker.

Mike was preceded in death by his father and one step-daughter, Danielle Stowe.
