Michael Roosevelt Chandler was born on October 2, 1949 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the son of Gus and Esther (Futrell) Chandler. He grew up in Jonesboro.
Mike served honorably in the Army during the early 1970’s. Mike moved to Sioux City during the late 1980’s.
Mike was in a partnership with Kim McPeek. Mike held various jobs. He was a machine operator and over the course of 26 years, he was an over the road truck driver.
He loved hanging out with his family. Mike enjoyed fishing and playing bingo.
Survivors include his life Partner, Kimberly McPeek; his sons, Michael Chandler, Jr, of Minnesota, Malcolm Chandler and his wife Patricia of El Paso, Texas, Travis McPeek of Iowa, Carmicheal Chandler of Minnesota and Treyzel Chandler of Iowa; his daughters Katrina McPeek of Iowa and Natelia and her husband Shane Siemonsma of Kansas City, Missouri; his mother, Esther of Jonesboro; his sister, Chartie May Futrell of Cincinnati, Ohio; and his brothers, Elmer Futrell of Columbus, Georgia and Tyrone Futrell and Emmett Futrell, both of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gus Chandler, his brothers, Gus Chandler, Jr., William Futrell, Eddy Futrell and a grandson, Braxton Siemonsma.
