Marcy was born on March 7, 1932, in Brunsville, Iowa the daughter of Elmer and Johannah (Mammen) Tucker. She lived in Le Mars until the age of 12 when the family moved to Sioux City.
Marcy attended school at Woodrow Wilson and graduated from Cathedral High School. Marcy was united in marriage to Charles Estochen, Sr., on December 13, 1952, at the Sioux City Air Base Chapel. After Charles’s honorable discharge in January of 1954, the couple made their home in Sioux City.
Marcy enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. She always had a love of animals from hunting to watching them in the wild, spoiling our pets to even enjoying the petting area at the nursing home. She got that from her Mom and passed that down through her children.
She was always supportive of sports for her kids and grandkids and great grandchildren! Marcy was known to round up all the kids she could find at a little league game and get them to root for their team behind the home plate fencing if the team was trailing. The umpires got to know her pretty well when she cheered at ballgames for her grandkids!
She always helped her husband cheer on the Pittsburg Steelers through the years. It was a family and extended family tradition.
Marcy was an avid reader known to buy grocery paper bags full of paperback books at the many yard sales she loved to go to.
BINGO!!! One of her favorite games. Gambling at “the boat” was a somewhat regular thing with her sister Margaret as well. After losing her eyesight, she would still play bingo with help and also cheer on the Steelers by listening to the games.
Survivors include her 3 children, Chuck (Darlene) Estochen Jr. of Sioux City, Kara (Sam) Reves of Soldotna, Alaska, and John (Trudi) Estochen of Dakota City, NE; 8 grandchildren, Brad (Becky) Estochen, Renee (David) Lo, Chuck (Sloane) Estochen III, William Reves, David (Christine) Reves, Cory (Miranda) Estochen, Dustin (Jessica) Estochen and Amber (Adi) Cizmic; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles in 2017, three brothers and one sister.
