Merlin G. Bos, 48, of Sioux City, passed away, Monday, April 15, 2013 at a local hospital. No services were held. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Merlin was born June 1, 1964 in the St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Opal A. Reed Bos and Merlin Bos, Sr. He attended Cooper School in Sergeant Bluff and graduated from East High School in 1983. Following high school Merlin joined the United States Army. He worked many jobs over the years. Merlin enjoyed being with his family, especially his brothers; Darron, Monty, and Travis. Merlin loved sports of all kinds, especially watching NASCAR racing.

Survivors include his mother Opal of Sioux City, brothers Darron and his wife Belinda of Jacinto, CA, Monty and his wife Gloria of Lawton, OK, and Travis of St. Paul, MN.

Merlin was preceded in death by his father Merlin, Sr., maternal grandparents Albert and Nettie Reed, paternal grandparents Charles and Dorothy Bos, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
