Melissa "Missy" Diane Cooley-Flieder

Melissa “Missy” Cooley Flieder, 55, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by her family on May 1, 2026. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Missy was born on March 12, 1971 in Sioux City, IA to Roberta Allison. She graduated from Moville High School and earned her nursing degree from Western Iowa Tech. Missy loved being a nurse and worked at Sunrise Retirement until her cancer diagnosis. She was united in marriage to Scott Flieder on November 21, 2023. Together they enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling. Missy loved her family, especially her grandkids.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Scott Flieder; children: Todd Cooley, Michael (Ander) Weito, Taylor Cooley, Samantha Cooley, Lola Flieder, and Kael Flieder; grandkids: Karsen, Jaxsen, Leigha, Kynslee, Cayden, and Braelynn Cooley; siblings: Bill (Brenda) Worrell and Sue Worrell; mother-in-law, Luella Flieder; and Jim (Liz) Cooley.

She is preceded in death by her mother and great-aunt, Billie Allison.
