Melanie L. Pokett, 37, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at her residence. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 12, 2015 with Pastor Doug Collins officiating at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Melanie was born on January 5, 1978 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence Norton and Barbara Gunderson. She attended West High School. Melanie married Troy Pokett on August 10, 2005 in Dakota City, Nebraska.

Melanie was often seen cheering on the Sioux City Musketeers, she also loved to go fishing and camping.
Melanie was a Certified Nurse's Assistant and was extremely passionate about her residents. She was a strong, positive support to others battling cancer. Melanie was a true guardian angel to many.

Survivors include her husband, Troy Pokett, their children: Christian Suhoreptez, Troy Pokett, Destiny Suhorepetz, and Kaylee Suhorepetz, all of the home. Melanie is also survived by her mother: Barbara Gunderson, and many other family memebers.

Melanie was preceded in death by her father: Lawrence Norton.
