Obituary

Maxwell E. "Mac" Erskine, 91, of Sioux City, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Maxwell Earl Erskine was born on March 5, 1929 in Sioux City to Cecil Vernon and Hazel (Lane) Erskine. He graduated from East High School in 1947. Following graduated, he worked at Armours Packing Plant. His next employment was with KSCJ. While working there he met Billie Weber. It was loved at first site for both of them. They eloped on December 24, 1956 and were married by the justice of the peace in Worthington, MN.

Mac then started his automobile sales career at Hutton Tufty Dodge dealership. When they closed, he was recruited by Jim Knoepfler to sell for Miller Kidder Chevrolet. Mac was with them for 30 years. He enjoyed his work and the people he met.

Mac loved life. He liked to joke around and pull pranks. Most of all, he enjoyed his family. He and Billie raised three children, Rick, Cindy, and Todd. He was involved in all of their sports activities, coaching church basketball and flag football. They spent many hours boating, swimming, fishing, and hunting. He was very proud of his daughter, The Nurse and his son, The Cop.

After retirement, Mac and Billie were inseparable. In fact, some thought they were joined at the hip! They both enjoyed hunting,  fishing, traveling, and the Missouri River.

Mac was preceded in death by his son, Rick; parents, Cecil Vernon and Hazel Erskine; brother, Vernon Erskine; and sister-in-law, Kay Erskine.

Mac is survived by his wife, Billie; daughter, Cindy (Steve) Meyer; son, Todd (Julie) Erskine; and grandchildren, Ashley and Derek Meyer, Ryan (Bobbi Jo) Erskine, Kristan (Trent) Muhr.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Mac's favorite place, the cabin on the Missouri River.
