Matthew J. Wiener, 44 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2022. Services will be held 10:30am Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm with a rosary at 4:30pm and prayer service at 7pm Monday, May 23 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City,4125 Orleans Ave.

Matthew was born July 17, 1977 in Sioux City, Iowa to Mark and Kathleen Wiener. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1995. Matt continued his education at Iowa State, graduating in 2002 with a degree in Construction Engineering.

After graduating, Matt began working as an ironworker in Baltimore and later in Sioux City. Most recently, he traveled the country with his brother and nephew, installing greenwall.

The loves of his life were his daughters, Madelyn and Olivia.  Matt enjoyed puzzles, bonfires and everything nature.  He loved listening to and sharing music. Matt was a problem solver who loved a good challenge. He had the sweetest smile and the most mischievous laugh. Matt didn’t say a lot, but when he did, he said a lot.

Matt will always be loved and remembered by his daughters, parents, brother, Michael and his wife Jackie and his four sisters and their spouses; Denise and Jason Broermann, Kristin and Tony Jones, Janet and Pat Jones and Sarah and Chris Jacobs. Matt was also loved by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded by his grandparents.
