Matthew E. “Thunder” Gladden, 59 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at a local hospital, with his wife at his side. Services will be held 11:00am Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Waterbury Funeral Service, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm with a prayer service at 7pm Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the funeral home.

Thunder was born May 2, 1963, in Wiesbaden Hess, Germany the son of Charles and Helen (Molter) Gladden. He graduated from a High School in Omaha, Nebraska. On September 24, 1980, Thunder enlisted into the United States Air Force receiving an honorable discharge in 1981. After the Air Force Thunder went on to become a long-time truck driver. He was recently working for Jebro, Inc.

He married Le Ann Salisbury on July 4, 2011, in Sioux City, Iowa, where they made their home. Thunder was the Vice President and a active member of the Guardians of the Children in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Thunder is survived by his wife LeAnn, two stepsons, James Salisbury, Justin Salisbury, and 16 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
