Matthew Raymond Anderson 40 of Sioux City, Iowa entered into eternal rest May 25, 2021. Visitation and Celebration of life will be held from 4-6pm Friday, May 28, 2021 at Waterbury Funeral Service, 4125 Orleans Ave, with food to follow.  Family will be present during this time.  We will have a Native blessing and sharing of a few words at 5:30 pm.

Matt was born April 8, 1981 and passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Tuesday morning.  Matt graduated from East High School in 1999.  He worked for several locally owned companies over the years, including Fareway, Overhead Door, J&L Staffing and Recruiting, Combined Pool and Spa and Breathe Clean Inc.  He also was a “star” cashier at Walmart when he was 16, a job he was very proud of.

Matt had a unique infectious laugh and a wild view on life.  He was well liked by friends and family.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, softball & golf.  He loved to cook & BBQ, he was a true “fire bug” and loved a good bonfire and 4 ^th of July annual fireworks war.  He took pride in his yard and in his appearance.  He was the first one out the door to do snow removal during the winter.  He loved his family, especially his mother, brother and children, and enjoyed spending time with them.

He struggled off and on with addiction his entire adult life, but he was always optimistic that he could overcome the demons inside of him.  Happily he was 55 days clean at the time of his death.

And I can LAUGH because I have known SADNESS”

He is survived by his mother, Rita (Angerman) Anderson, his brother, Chris (Crystal) Anderson, niece Bianca and a nephew Gunnar,  he leaves behind six children:  Trinity (Alexis Sek), Chelsea, Mason,  Skylar (Brooke Hagen), Bella & Beau (Alesha Rasmussen), and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
