MaryJo A. Derochie, 69, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 6, 2015 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
MaryJo was born on November 13, 1945, in Sioux City, the daughter of Edward and Gertrude (Hanshaw) Pranke. She married Richard on October 5, 1962.
MaryJo worked at Swift for twenty years, was a cook at the senior center during the 1980's and 1990's, and retired from Aramark in 2006 after working there for thirteen years. MaryJo was an amazing cook who also loved to go fishing, camping, and hunting.
Survivors include her husband Richard, sons: Richard Jr. and his wife Julie of Sloan and Brian Sr. and his wife Roberta of Whiting, daughter Kandy Wanderscheid and her husband John of Iowa, brother LeRoy Pranke, sisters: Gertrude Paul and Dorothy Marston all of Sioux City, nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
MaryJo was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Edward and Edwin, three sister: Ethel Andersen, Gwen Ross, and Florence Goodwin.
