Mary Ellen Vogel, 76, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at a local hospital. Services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Kenny Hsu officiating. A visitation will be held 4-8 with family present from 6-8 and a prayer service at 7:00 pm with Rev. Henry Witte officiating on Tuesday, August 23, at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be held at a later date.
Mary was born on January 9, 1940 in Sioux City, the daughter of Raymond and Avis (Udell) Maron. She attended Central High School and married James A. Vogel on May 30, 1959. Mary worked at Zenith and Sioux Tools in Sioux City.
Mary enjoyed camping, dancing, shopping, cooking, going to craft fairs, and especially spending time with family. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and was currently attending St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James A. Vogel of Sioux City; children, Randy (Brandi Auen) Vogel of Mason City, Iowa, Sidney (Cindy) Vogel of Sioux City, Kelley (Albert) Schoen of Sioux City, Fred Vogel, and Sandy Williems; brothers, Gene Maron, Gale Maron, Kirk Maron, Earl Stough, Roy Stough, and Gary Stough; sisters, Patricia Beckwith, Kim Maron, Karen Berge, Barb Plendl, and Pauline Hiserote; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; children, Cory and Tammy; 1 great-grandson Josiah Vogel, 5 brothers; and 2 sisters.
