Mary Margaret Paulsen

Mary Paulsen, 81, of Lawton, IA, passed away December 11, 2025. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be in Sunset View Cemetery, Washta, Iowa.

Mary was born on September 12, 1944 in Anthon, IA to John Sr. and Helen (Hinds) Paulsen. She graduated from Anthon-Oto high school and went on to earn her teaching certificate. Mary worked as an instructional aide in the Sioux City Community School district for many years. She also worked at Nash Finch in the office and in the floral department at both Econo Foods and Carousel of Flowers. She enjoyed playing the piano and harp, her vegetable garden, flowers, and doing arts and crafts.

Those left to honor her memory include her many friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; and friend, Wendell Saxen.
