Mary L. (Charbonneau) Nyreen, 52, of Alcester, South Dakota, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at her residence. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Nathaniel Lutheran Church in Alcester, South Dakota with Rev. Kevin Jensen officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-8 with family present from 6-8 and a prayer service at 7:00 pm, Monday, August 8, 2016 at the church in Alcester, SD. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Mary was born on March 18, 1964 in Sioux City, the daughter of Edmond and Rozella (Peck) Charbonneau. She graduated from Heelan High School in 1982. While in Sioux City, Mary worked at Billy Boy's Drive-In in Riverside and as an assistant manager at McDonald's. Mary moved to Alcester in 1998 and married Roger Nyreen on December 14, 2001. For 15 years, Mary worked at Casey's in Hawarden, retiring due to her illness. Family was number one to Mary, followed by her customers; she loved taking care of everyone.

Survivors include her husband, Roger; son, Daniel Edmond both of Alcester; siblings, Michael Charbonneau of Alcester, Mark (Brenda) Charbonneau of Sioux City, and Melissa (Kevin) Welty of Sioux City; nieces and nephews, Heather, Amanda, Jeffrey, Emily, Elizabeth, and Abigail; great nieces and nephews, Ryan, Cooper, Vayda, and Hadley.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
