Mary M. Holles, 95, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at a local hospital.
Services will be held 10:30 am, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, with a vigil service at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Granville, Iowa.
Mary was born on May 12, 1920, in Polo, South Dakota, the daughter of John and Matilda (Thorman) Lammers. She married Arthur G. Holles on January 21, 1941 in Granville, Iowa. Arthur passed away in 1993. Together they lived in Sioux City for most of their lives. Mary worked as a bookkeeper at Firestone for many years and also at Linda Lee’s Hallmark Cards.
Mary loved spending time with her family. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan, she also enjoyed playing cards. Mary was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her faith was very important to her.
Survivors include her sons: Allen (Sheri) of Minnesota, Glen (Carol) of South Carolina, Wayne (Joan) of Sioux City, Don (Connie) of Louisiana, Mark (Linda) of Maryland, daughters: Karen Leach of Oregon and Kathy (Tom) Hamilton of Nebraska, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Kimmy, and son-in-law Cliff.
