Obituary

Mary E. Goetsch, 81, of Sioux City, entered into Heaven on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at her residence. Services will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Mayflower Congregational Church with Rev. Ryan Dowell Baum officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. A visitation will be held from 6-9 pm with prayer service at 7:00pm on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Mary was born April 6 1934 to William and Ina Belle Baker in Sioux City, Ia. She had two Sisters Betty and Patrica. She Graduated from East High. She lived in Sioux City all her life. She worked at Sioux City Carpets for years. She also worked at Hidden Acres Golf Course. Then when her daughter Terri and son in law John opened Dorsey's in Leeds she went to work for them during the day hours. She would save her tips so she would have spending money for her Snowbird months. She Married Gerald (Jerry) M Goetsch on January 10, 1956. They spent many years together. They were able to enjoy 10 years of retirement together in Texas each year as SNOWBIRDS. Jerry passed away in 1998. They had two daughters together Tyanne and Terri. Her Daughter Terri passed away in 2008 and Son in law John passed away in 2009.

Mary would light up any room she walked into. All she had to do was smile and say hello. She genuinely loved her family, friends and church. She was an avid golfer and bowler. She loved playing Bingo. In her younger years she loved to camp and sing songs to all of the kids around the campfire. Her favorite one to sing was Little Blue Man. She was an excellent Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. She was totally devoted to her family.

Mary leaves behind a daughter Tyanne, Granddaughter Missy Jacobson and her partner Justin Dunn, Grandsons Marty Poston and his wife Traci, Matt Jacobson and his partner Stephanie Rosemeyer and Tad Dorsey. Great grandchildern Gage and Autumn Poston, Hailey and Kylie Dunn, Shaylee and Jonah Jacobson. Makayla and Schuylar Langston. Great Great Grandchildren Zaylie and K'hren. Two Son in laws Dan Poston and Curtis Jacobson. Sister in laws Beverly Junck, and Joanne Johnson, Brother and Sister in law Roger and Nancy Goetsch, Brother in law Marvin Goetsch. Lots of neices and nephews. 2 honorary daughters Kathy Gastro and Rose O'Neill.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry, daughter Terri and son in law John Dorsey, her two sisters Betty Schmitz and Patricia Horne, her brother in laws Bob Schmitz and Bob Horne, Clair Junck, Connie Johnson, Rolland Goetsch. Sister in Laws Mary Goetsch and Blanche Goetsch.
