Mary Ann Dvorkin, 65 of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at her residence in Sioux City.
Services will be held 11 am Friday, September 21 at Waterbury Funeral Service with Rev. Fred Pilecki officiating. Burial will be in the Sloan Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to time of service.
Mary was born on September 15, 1947 in Little Sioux, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Ella (Martinsen) Nelson. Mary graduated in 1965 from Westwood High School in Sloan.
Mary was united in marriage to Brian Dvorkin in Sioux City. She worked her way up to assistant manager at Woolco and later with Shopko. She was of the Lutheran faith and attended Shepherd of Peace Church.
Mary is survived by her son Joe Dvorkin and his wife Amy Lynn of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her brothers Fred (Ella) Nelson of Salix, Lee (Dory) Nelson of San Antonio, Texas and Ray (Janice) Nelson of Salix; her grandchildren, Kamber and Codey Dvorkin; her sister in-laws Doris Nelson of Sloan and Mary Lynn Nelson of Salix; and her brother in-law Don Rogers of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Brian on November 25, 2002, three brothers, Bryon, Charles and Bob Nelson and one sister, Doris Rogers.
