Obituary

Mary Rita (Shaw) Caravan was welcomed into the arms of her living savior on Friday, April 19th.  She passed away peacefully at Sunrise Retirement Community at the age of 85.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei Parish-Church of the Nativity.  Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23rd from 4-7:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mary Rita was born on October 9, 1938, in Mount Carbon, PA. to Thomas and Catherine (Kenworthy) Shaw.  She was the 8th out of 19 children.

On June 7, 1958, she married the only man she ever loved, Edward Caravan in Pottsville, PA.  Mary Rita was an active member of the Church of the Nativity.

Mary Rita loved to play Bingo and enjoyed doing Puzzles. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Mary Rita is survived by her three sons, Bill (Bonnie) Caravan of Le Mars, IA, Ronald (Amber) Caravan of Waukee, IA and Steven (Crystal) Caravan of Eaton, CO., eight grandchildren, Trudy (Chad) Poeckes, TJ (Carly) Caravan, Tyler Caravan, Kayla (Andy) Schmidt, Rachel (Philip) Weinrich, Brooke (Nate) Modlin, Tara Caravan and Chanc Caravan, 11 great grandchildren, Briana, Taye, Jozi, Tyler, Boston, Mia, Sophia, Berklee, Talen, AJ, Carson and Cameron.

In addition to her husband, Edward Caravan she was preceded in death by a daughter Ranne Louise Caravan.
