Martha "Marty" M. Meisner, 83 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Friday, April 24, 2020 at a care facility in South Sioux City, NE. Memorial services will be held 11:00am Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Morningside Assembly of God. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00am until service time at the church.

Martha Mary Meisner was born on January 30, 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Joseph and Marie O’Donell.  She lived in Sioux City, Iowa.  Marty married Jerry Meisner in September of 1958 and the couple then lived in South Sioux City, NE.

Marty began working in the stockroom at Younkers department store when she was 17 years old and worked her way up through different positions in the company. One of her favorite jobs in her career with Younkers, was the position of Buyer. This job required her to travel, and she especially loved going to New York City to see the new designers. She really enjoyed shopping in New York City, attending Broadway plays, and exploring the different neighborhoods and attractions. When she retired from Younkers in 1999, she held the position of General Manager and was greatly respected and liked by her employees.

In her spare time, Marty loved to bowl and was part of a bowling team for several years. She also really enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Her greatest joy was spending time with her nieces and nephews. Many of them have memories of special movie nights at her house, trips together, and a lifetime of caring for them as if they were her very own. Marty was a very generous and kind person, and you could always count on Marty to be there for you.
