Marsha A. Van Roekel, 68, of Sergeant Bluff, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at a Sioux City hospital after a 9 month battle with bladder cancer. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held from 3-7pm with family present from 5-7pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the funeral home.

Marsha was born on April 11, 1949 in LeMars, IA to David and Hazel (Ballard) Westhusing. She grew up on a farm in Granville, IA and graduated from Paullina High School in 1967.

Throughout the years, Marsha worked at various places in the Siouxland area; Aalfs, IBP, Dial America, and McDonald’s on Singing Hills Blvd in Sioux City for 25 plus years. Marsha enjoyed reading, going to casinos, and shopping. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandkids and granddogs.

Survivors include her significant other for over thirty years, Rodney Foreman; daughters, Jennifer (Sean) Kvidera of Sergeant Bluff and Lori (Jacob) Noltze of Sioux City; sister, Sherry Robson of Moville; grandchildren, Tanner, Tucker, and Claire; niece, Lisa Kreber of Bakersfield, CA; nephews, Chad (Jennifer) Kreber of Granville, IA; and Jason Kreber of North Sioux City; and her beloved cat, Sammy.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Michael.
