Marlene R. Webbyi, 61, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at Accura Care Center. Services will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City with Rev. Lloyd Grant officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery, in Homer, NE following services.
Marlene was born on October 28, 1955 in Rapid City, SD, the daughter of Harold and Wauneta (Johns) Strong. She attended school in Homer, NE and moved to Sioux City following high school.
Marlene worked as a cashier throughout the years, at various places in Sioux City. She attended Central Baptist Church. Marlene enjoyed volunteering her time to Convoy of Hope and as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer during Christmas time. When it was cold out, Marlene enjoyed indoor activities with a group of friends; Winnevegas penny slots, lottery scratch tickets, drinking coffee, and smoking her cigarettes. In the summer months, Marlene would be fishing every day, most often at Bacon Creek.
Survivors include her children, Melissa (Danny) Dierker of Chestnut, IL and Jeremy (Promise Johnson) Knapp of David City, NE; two sisters, Bonnie and Helen; five brothers, Paul, Robert, Bruce, Leroy, and Joe; grandchildren, Will (Emma), Lindsey, Bradley (Chantal), Kayla, McKenzie, Ashlyn, and Camron; great grandchildren, Boston, Daunte, and one on the way; and special friend that Marlene visited daily, Connie.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may directed in Marlene's name to the family, for the purchase of a grave marker at the Omaha Valley Cemetery.
