Marlene Alice Baker, 90, of Sioux City, IA, passed away March 4, 2025, at a local nursing home. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City with a visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marlene was born on June 19, 1934, in Kimball, SD to James and Alice (DeWall) Allen.  She graduated from Central High School in 1952. Marlene was married to Warren Baker, Sr.

Marlene worked for the Iowa Motor Vehicle Department in the old courthouse for many years, retiring during the early 1990’s. She enjoyed taking Ceramic classes and making ceramics items. She also enjoyed macramé and going rummaging through garage sales.

She is survived by her son Warren (Nancy) Baker Jr., grandchildren Melisa Wauhob, Trevor Wauhob, Dustin Wauhob, Amon Bauer and Zach Bauer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son David Baker, a sister Joyce Murad, and her brother Melvin Allen.
