Mark Galles, 48, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, November 14, 2019 after a 2 year battle with brain cancer. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday November 23, 2019 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the funeral home.

Mark was born on June 8, 1971 in Colorado Springs, CO to John and Lois Galles. He graduated  from Kingsley-Pierson High School in 1989. He graduated from Westmar College in 1993 with dual bachelor's degrees in both English and Art.

Mark wore many hats during his working years.  He was a newspaper sports writer, a bartender, and a mortgage broker, He also worked in IT sales for Gateway Computers and currently worked as an account manager in IT sales at Connection in Dakota Dunes, SD.

He began dating Kristi Pearson, and in 2018 they married, joining their two families together. Mark was an avid golfer and cyclist. He loved watching Liverpool Soccer and the Boston Red Sox.   Most importantly, he loved spending time with family and friends. He was well known for his sense of humor, wit, charm and his crazy antics that brought laughter to those around him.

Survivors include his wife, Kristi Galles; parents; John and Lois Galles of Kingsley; children, Tori Von Minden of Sioux City, Roman Galles of Cedar Falls, and Grace Galles of Corvallis, OR; Kristi's children, Rachel (Ryan) Undine of Sioux City and Cody Pearson, of South Sioux City; siblings, Matt (Tammie) Galles of Milford, IA, Mike (Jenni) Galles of Dakota Dunes, Mary (Richard) Anderson of Iowa City, IA, Maureen (Dave) Hansen of Rock Valley, and Misi (Josh) Tacke of Sioux Center, IA; grandchildren, Hailey, Noah, Kelsie, Melody, and Rosemary; many nieces and nephews; and a large extended family. He was especially close to his Mother-In-Law, Bunny Ericksen and they shared a close and loving bond.
