Mark Robert Behrens (57) of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away with family at his side on Thursday August 16 ^th , 2018. Visitation will begin at 5pm and Celebration of Life services will be at 6pm, Tuesday, August 21 ^st at Waterbury Funeral Home in Sioux City.

Mark was born October 24 ^th , 1960 in Sioux City, IA to Robert and Connilou Behrens. He attended grade school at Hunt Elementary, North Junior, and graduated from West High School in 1979. Mark has three children from his previous marriage (Mark Jr., Melisalee, and Dustin).

He married to Laurie Mackey in 1993. They raised 3 children together (Nicholas, Tanner, and Shealee). He worked assiduously at Besser Concrete Pipe for 28 years as the plant manager and volunteered as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts.

Mark had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit, and meeting new people. He was enthusiastic for hiking with family outdoors, the Kansas City Chiefs, and photographing beautiful scenery. He loved travelling to Arizona with his father and sister, Colorado with his son, Minnesota with his wife, Canada with his coworkers and the Tetons with his friends. He will be remembered as a loving father, great friend and a caring, ornery husband.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Behrens of Sioux City; his six children, Mark Jr., Melissalee, Dustin, Nicholas (Ana), Tanner, and Shealee; his parents Connilou and Robert Behrens; his two sisters Kimberly Hickman (Mark) and Robyn Santos (Craig); his six grandchildren Benjamin, Gabrielle, Zachary, Kelton, Ellee, and Aiden; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
