Mario Alberto Diaz-Gale Nieves, 34, of South Sioux City, Nebraska died Friday, December 30, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be from 1:00pm to 4:00pm Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue.

Mario was born January 13, 1988, in Mexicali, Mexico the son of Augustin Nieves and Linda Lee Gale. He was raised in Mexicali, Mexico and Anaheim, California, graduating from High School in Mexico. Mario moved to the Sioux City area 15 years ago. He married Glenda Perez August 18, 2018. Together they made their home in South Sioux City. Mario worked as a Diesel Mechanic.

Mario dedicated Sundays to football. He was an Indianapolis Colts Fan. Mario also enjoyed cooking, barbequing and listening to music.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Diaz; 4 children, Israel, Patty, Joshua and Mia; mother, Linda Lee Gale; 6 siblings, Natalia Hernandez Rangel Gale, Francisco Hernandez Gale, Jose Luis Sanchez Gale, Andrea Rivera Gale, Rose Nieves and Maria Nieves; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
