Marilyn K. Montang, 79 of Sergeant Bluff, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
Memorial Services will be held 11 am Monday, November 29 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held 5-7 pm Sunday, November 28 with a 7 pm Prayer Service.
Marilyn was born on June 19, 1942 in Sioux City, the daughter of Lloyd and Marvel (Peterson) Speckhart. She was a Central High School graduate. Marilyn was married to Tom Montang in 1962 and 4 children were born to this union. Later, she married Rex Kratz, and to this union one child was born. Marilyn was a life-long Sioux City area resident.
Over the years she worked at the Iowa Department of Human Services and later with the Dakota County Department of Human Services. She was a member of the Westlawn Presbyterian Church and the Little Yellow Dog and Goodfellow Charities.
Marilyn enjoyed embroidery and making Christmas stockings for family members. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and socializing with friends.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Debbie (Joel Conkey) Sachau of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Theresa (Randy) Grove of Dakota City, Nebraska, Pam (Carl) Stolze of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Bud Montang of Irving, Texas and Cinde (Aaron) Flemister of Sioux City, 23 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, three siblings, Roger (Holly) Speckhart of Florida, William (Kathy) Speckhart of Wisconsin and Carolyn Pint of Sergeant Bluff, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rex Kratz, son-in-law, Pat Sachau, brother-in-law, Brian Pint and a sister-in law, Julie Speckhart.
