Margaret A. Sands, 73 of Sioux City, IA., died Tuesday, May 16, 2017. Funeral Service will be held at 1pm Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Margaret Ann Sands was born June 9, 1943 in Snohomish, Washington the daughter of Fred and Marie (Vanderham) Place. She graduated in 1961 from Snohomish, Washington High School. May 1, 1964 she married Lawrence Sands in Sioux City. During the 1960’s she worked for Lloyd and Meyer Pharmacy for ten years, also worked as a private home cleaner.

She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering along with reading, especially about history. Margaret was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.

Margaret is survived by her husband Lawrence, son James Sands, daughter Lorrianne Rose all of Sioux City, one sister Kathleen Crapson of Lake Stevens, Washington and four grandchildren, Jeremiah, Rachel, Matthew, Emily.

She preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Janet Benton, one sister Lillian Krocak, two brothers Larry Place and Dale Place and four grandchildren, Brian, Monica, Nicholas and Hannah.
