Margaret Eva Ping was born April 11, 1920 in Parker, South Dakota the daughter of George and Eva (Piatt) Gifford. Her first marriage blessed her with 3 children. She and her children married George O. Ping on March 11, 1950.
A very spirited woman she had endured and conquered many things in her life. She was adventurous, funny, smart, giving, and many other things. The strongest of all was her faith in God and love of her family. A savvy business woman, she spent 32 years as a manager of in-home parties for Toy Parade followed by Friendly Home Parties. She was also the business sense behind many years of buying, renovating, renting, and selling houses. She was an avid doll collector. She was very proud that at age 50 she got her G.E.D. and finally learned how to swim. In 2005 she received an honorary diploma from East High School. She was always up for an adventure and at 89 was thrilled to finally go on a hot air balloon ride. Over the years, she was active in many things including Scouting and her church and happily sang in the choir until she was 92.
Margaret is survived by her two sons, Chuck Robinson and Jan, Doug Ping and Teri, one daughter Marilee Ping Lynn, and one sister Lila Mehess, 11 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
She proceeded in death by her parents, husband George in 2007, sons Ronnie and Rodney, a daughter Peggy, four brothers, one sister, and two grandsons.
