Following graduation, she completed the course of medical security at Western Iowa Tech. While in college she held several part time jobs to help continue her education. She went to work at Western Iowa Tech in the bookstore. Having missed the farm, she went back to school in the livestock management program. 12 weeks into the program a job came open on a cattle farm.
