Marcia J. Mathison, 54 of Sioux City, died Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Marcia was born on December 12, 1970, in Sioux City, the daughter of Mark and Patricia (Cardwell) Cain.  She graduated from West High School in 1988. In 1995 she was united in marriage to Robert Mathison.

Marcia worked at Mid-Step for many years with disabled children. Marcia has a great sense of humor; she also loved to cook and watch movies. The highlight of her life was that she loved her kids and grandchildren with all her heart.

Marcia is survived by her husband, Robert Mathison; sons: Anthony "Tony" Wold and Briar (Jacinda) Mathison; her daughters: Rhylie (Sam Seutjens) Wold, Julie (Ben Wertz) Wold, and Rayven Rabbass; several step children; brother, Jeff Cardwell; sisters: Julie (Shaun) Bell-Sarff and Michele Cain; grandchildren: Ledger, Foster, River, Preslie, Brantly, Hunter, Asher, August and Roslyn; special niece, Alexis Madsen; her mother, Patricia Freeman; and special friend, Rob Thorngren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Cain, brother, James Pederson and a grandson, Manny Vargas.
