Obituary

Marcia K. Hast, 65, of Sioux City, passed away, Sunday, April 7, 2013 at her residence. Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2013 at Good News Baptist Church at 3200 West 19th Street in Sioux City with Pastor John Woodford officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Marcia was born on October 11, 1947 in Petrolia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Chester “Chet” and Beatrice (Godfrey) Wiles. She graduated from high school in Riverside, California. Marcia married David Hast in August of 1973 in Vail, Iowa. Marcia was a housewife while she raised her children. Later, she worked for MCI and retired for health reasons in 2005.

Marcia loved children, including neighborhood children and any others that she met. She was a great cook and would bring food to all family gatherings. Marcia enjoyed artwork, bowling, and crocheting. She was an active member of Good News Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband David Hast, mother-in-law Ferne Hast, sons Sean Hast and his wife Shonna of Silverton, Oregon and Christopher Hast and his wife Roxanne of Tekamah, Nebraska, daughters Angi Hast of Mesa, Arizona and Brandy Hast and her significant other John Coulter of Mesa, Arizona, brother Gary Wiles and his wife Kim of Denison, Iowa and sister Nancy Jennings and her husband Mike of James, Iowa, grandchildren Tristan, Zander, Bella, Caine, Gabriel, Desiree, Drew, Juan “Junior”, Jazmine, Kelli, Dylan, and Neveah, sibling-in-laws: Dean and Lisa Hast of North Carolina, Lynn and Sheri Hast of Dow City, Iowa, and Karen and Tom Muff of Dow City, Iowa. Marcia is also survived by special extended family in Pennsylvania, special friends of Good News Baptist Church, special friend Sheila in California and several nieces and nephews.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Sandra West, father-in-law Virgil Hast, and sister-in-law Joan Keairnes.
