Marcea C. Clary, 90 of Sioux City, formerly of Sloan, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, September 22nd at Skien Lutheran Church in rural Sloan; with a Prayer Service at 7 pm. Funeral and Burial will held at a later date. Arrangements are with Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.
Marcea Catherine Clary was born June 16, 1932, on a farm in Sioux County Iowa, the daughter of Hans and Catherine (Tank) Moeller. She graduated from Rock Valley High School then received her teaching degree from Wartburg College. She taught for many years.
Marcea married Lyle Clary on August 10, 1958. To this union they had two children, David and Becky. Marcea worked in several Sloan stores and was Sloan’s librarian for 17 years before she retired. She was an active member of Skien Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed visiting her grandkids in Indiana, loved her cats, watching and feeding birds, sewing clothes and quilts, gardening and baking. She is survived by her son David (Julie) of Angola, Indiana, Becky Wernli (Kevin), her grandchildren James (Robbie), Sarah and Nathan, her brother Harold and sister, Karen (Jim).
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyle, brother, Robert, sister-in-law Rose Moeller and favorite cat, Oreo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Skien Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer’s Association or Siouxland Humane Society.
