Marbethe Anne Giorgenti, age 73, of Sioux City died Sunday June 24, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday June 29, 2012 at 10:30am from St. Boniface Catholic Church with interment following in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8pm with a Vigil Service held at 7:00pm at the church. Waterbury Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Marbethe was born in Sioux City on March 31, 1939, the daughter of Robert and Twila (Schooley) Huie. She attended Sioux City Community Schools and graduated from Central High School with the class of 1957. She later attended WIT and received a degree in medical transcription.

She was united in marriage with Joe Giorgenti on October 27, 1958 in Sioux City.

Marbethe worked for many years at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Medical Records retiring in 2005. She loved sewing, gardening knitting hats and scarves for her family, and all of her pets. She treasured the time she could spend with all of her loving family.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the SPCA.

She is survived by her husband Joe of Sioux City, two sons: Anthony of Sioux City and Robert and his wife Tuesday of Sioux City, her daughter Elizabeth Giorgenti of Correctionville, Iowa. One brother Robert Huey of Louisiana, her 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
