Maral McAdoo-Mittel, 57, Lyons, Nebraska, formally of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 3, 2015, from natural causes.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Friends and family may call at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with services commencing at 3:00 p.m.

Maral was an accomplished writer, a talented jeweler, an avid supporter of our country’s service members, a dear friend to all whom held her close and a beloved mother. Maral took great pride in her family, particularly her two sons and her step-daughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alden Jay McAdoo and Marjorie McAdoo and by her brother Phillip McAdoo and her sister, Sally Snow.

She is survived by her sons, Jonah Parks, of Des Moines, IA and Jared Mittel of Sioux City, IA and her step-daughter, Katie Mittel, of Flora, IL; sister in law, Patricia McAdoo, of Omaha, NE; sister in law, Jane McAdoo, of Wichita, KS; as well as a number of extended family members and dear friends.
