M. Elaine Peterson, 94 of Sioux City, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at a local care facility.

Memorial services 10:30 am Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, with Rev. Henry Witte officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery at a later date. Elaine was born on March 17, 1918 in Sioux City, the daughter of Oscar and Oma (Jones) Peterson.

Elaine was united in marriage to Wayne M. Peterson on August 14, 1943 in Augustana Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Elaine worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Yonkers, and later with Jones Distributing Company, retiring in 1983.

Elaine is survived by her children,Mary and her husband Don Crum of Sioux City, and Douglas Peterson and his wife Barb of Council Bluffs; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne in 1983, and one son, Ronald D. Peterson.
