Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Lyle was born on Feb. 25, 1940, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of William and Edith (Halm) Ely. Lyle married Mary Hollingshead in 1963 in Sioux City.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of Sioux City; children, Kim Willden and her husband, Kevin of North Carolina, Cathy Petzoldt and her husband, Jon of Arizona, and Bill Ely and his wife, Sharrie of Omaha; grandchildren, Caitie, Alec, and Ryan Petzoldt, Nick, Emily, Lilly, and Izzy Ely; and a great-grandchild, Knox Ely; and a brother Harlan Ely and his wife Mary Jane of Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents.
