Loretta I. Farrer, 85, of Sioux City, IA, passed away May 4th, 2024 at a local hospital.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 11th at 1:00 p.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at  Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Loretta was born on October 18, 1938 in Wasau, NE to Ralph and Geneva (Carlson) Erickson.  She graduated from high school and was united in marriage to Jim Farrer on May 27, 1961 in Sioux City.  Loretta worked at Albertson's and later at JCPenny.  She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, crafts, making Christmas stockings for family, and working in her garden.  She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, James Farrer; children: Glen (Tamie) Farrer, Timothy (Sandy) Farrer, and Gena (Ron)Lenz; grandchildren: Cody, Olyvia, Mike, Jillian, Dakota, Shelby, Heather, April and Donnie; and a  brother, Conrad Erickson.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anita Prosch.
