Lorraine Joyce Windle, 91, of Sioux City, IA passed away peacefully, November 7, 2023, at a local care facility.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Lorraine was born on October 15, 1932, in Laurel, NE to Roy and Lavern (Spike) Kent.  Lorraine moved to Sioux City as a teenager with her family.  She married Donald Richard Windle on March 15, 1950.  They celebrated 67 years of marriage before Don’s death on July 26, 2017.

Lorraine was employed at Western State Manufacturing Company in Sioux City for 39 years before retiring in 1998.  Friends and relatives were always welcome in her home.  Guests appreciated her warm hospitality and tasty downhome cooking.  She enjoyed genealogy, researching her Swedish roots, and attending family reunions in Nebraska.  She loved traveling, going to the theater, boating, and sewing.  Lorraine was a member of the South Bottom Society.

Those left to honor her memory include her children:  Jeanette Keairns, Karon (Steve) Dorr, and Sharon (Robert) Nagy; son-in-law, Richard Ruzicka; grandchildren: Stephanie Amick, Jill Kirk, Lezly Boblit, Ted Griffin, Geno Griffin, Richard Ruzicka, James Ruzicka, John Dorr, Nick Dorr, Chris Dorr; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Lee (Coni) Kent; sister, Rita Owings; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; daughter, Donnette Ruzicka; son-in-law, Neal Keairns; sister, Shirley Carrell; brother-in-law, Thomas Owings; and grandson, Ryan Nagy.
