Lori L. Rand, 63 of Montgomery, Texas, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at her residence. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 22nd at 10:30 am at Waterbury Funeral Home, 4125 Orleans Ave. Sioux City, IA. 51106. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, 2701 S Lakeport St., Sioux City, IA. 51106.

Lori was born on December 25, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur C. and Beverly C. (Hewitt) Holzerland. Lori was briefly married to her childhood sweetheart Tony Goertz. She then married Michael Lander in which two children were born, Bryce M. Lander and Britt A. Lander. She then married Todd Rand in which one child was born McKayla W. Rand. She moved to Montgomery Texas 21 years ago and spent those years with her significant other and best friend Dale Maggart.

Family and animals were Lori’s passion. She raised and showed Irish Wolfhounds with many grand prizes. She had a love for horses at a very young age which she carried throughout her life. She owned several horses herself over the years, both for fun and work. Lori rode for the Lone Star Cowgirls of Texas. She also worked for many years for the Alpha Omega security mounted patrol of The Woodlands, Texas.

Survivors include her significant other Dale Maggart of Montgomery, TX, three children, Bryce (Kristy) Lander of Moville, IA., Britt Lander of Akron, IA and McKayla Rand (Danny Mallinson) of Ames, IA. She had two brothers and one sister all in Iowa, Doran (Molli) Holzerland, Darin (Mary) Holzerland and LuAnn (Wilson) Eisley. She had six grandchildren, Hailey, Taylor and Lukas Lander of Moville, IA and Alyssa, Alek and Ashton of Council Bluffs, IA. She also had several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father Arthur Holzerland and mother Beverly Holzerland .
