Obituary

Lori Pierce, 59, of Sloan, Iowa passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 28, 2025, surrounded by those she loved.  A celebration of Lori’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 1, 2025, at Waterbury Funeral Service 4125 Orleans Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa. A visitation will be held at the same location one hour prior. Lori will be laid to rest on Monday, February 3, 2025, in the Hawarden, IA cemetery. A procession will leave the funeral home at 8:45am and will be led by her brother Chief Richard Headid.

Born on October 25, 1965, in Sioux City, Iowa, Lori was the daughter of Milo and Peggy (Price) Headid. She grew up with a close bond with her siblings, Theresa, Michael, and Richard, cherishing the deep connections they shared throughout her life.

Lori’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her three sons, Jeffrey, Evan, and Austin, who were the light of her life. Her love grew even stronger when she met Bob Pierce, her soulmate and the love of her life. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.

Lori had a passion for animals, especially horses and dogs, and found peace and happiness in their company. She also treasured time spent with family and friends, many of whom she considered family. Her kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

Lori is survived by her soulmate, Bob Pierce; her children Jeffrey Donavan, Evan McKee and Austin McKee, stepdaughters Kim, Kris, Kari, Danielle, Bobbi, and Charity; stepson Brett; many grandchildren, and great grandchildren; her father Milo (Kristy) Headid; her stepfather Bob Case; siblings Theresa (Jim) Muhe, Michael (Sandi) Headid, and Richard Headid, Michelle Headid, Tina(Bruce) Smit, Ben(Nichole)Case; many nieces nephews aunts uncles and cousins as well as the many friends she held as family.

Lori is proceeded in death by most recently her mother Peggy Case; her sister Michelle Headid; her brother-in-law Bruce Smit; her stepson Kirk; her grandparents; and one of her best friends Katrina Hanner.

Lori leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
