Lorence C. “Shorty” Iddings, 59, of Sioux City, passed away, January 2, 2014 at a local hospital. Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Faith Christian Church, 809 South Alice Street in Sioux City, with Rev. Robert Rasmussen officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.     Shorty was born on May 29, 1954 in Ponca, Nebraska, the son of Urie and Marion (Cyphers) Iddings. Shorty grew up in Ponca and attended school there. He married Marcia Johnson on July 20, 1974, in Elk Point, SD, she passed away three days later. Shorty married Deborah Hirocke on January 26, 1976 in Vermillion, SD, and they later divorced. Shorty married Lauri Vogelzang on July 4, 1980 in Elk Point, SD.     Shorty worked for Micro Towers building towers, for a short time at the City of Sergeant Bluff, and later on as a mechanic. He was always tinkering with something; cars, trucks, computers, anything with a motor. Shorty loved to go fishing, boating, camping, pheasant hunting, sitting on the porch to enjoy the day, but most of all, loved spending time with his grandchildren.     Survivors include his wife Lauri of Sioux City, daughters Andrea “Andi” Iddings of Vermillion, SD and Rhoda Iddings of South Sioux City, NE, siblings Jim Iddings and his wife Dona of Sioux City, Tom Iddings and his wife Patti of Omaha, Donna O’Dell of South Sioux City, Aloma Patrick and her husband Joel of Sioux City, Vern Iddings of Ponca, NE, Helen “Sis” Holmberg and her husband Brian of Sioux City, Irving Barnes of MO, and Alva “Texie” Branson and her husband Mike of MO., grandchildren Merragin Iddings, Dustin and Wyatt Hatcher, many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.     Shorty was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ben Iddings, and wife Marcia Johnson-Iddings.
