Lorena A. Ruring, 78, of Sioux City, Iowa died Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at a local hospital. Memorial Services will be 11:30 Friday, March 18, 2022 at The Ark United Methodist Church 120 Gateway Drive in North Sioux City, SD. with lunch to follow. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Waterbury Funeral Services is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lorena was born April 11, 1943 in Wells, Minnesota the daughter of Edward and Mini (Jacobson) Colyer Sr. As a young girl, she moved with her family to the farm near Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. She worked on the farm throughout her life. Even as she worked outside the home at several different nursing homes as well as working at the Senior Center in North Sioux City, she would continue work on the farm.

Lorena was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devout Methodist and a member of the Methodist Church in North Sioux City.

She is survived by her son, George Patterson, daughter, Robin (Steve) Monroe; 2 grandchildren, Jacob Monroe and James Monroe; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Renee) Colyer

She is preceded in death by her parents; special friend, Mel; two brothers, Gene and Ed.
