Lonnie C. "Youngblood" Ellington, 82, of Sioux City, passed away March 19, 2018 in a local hospital. Services will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, March 26, 2018 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm with family present and a prayer service at 7:00 pm on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Lonnie was born on September 15, 1935 in West, MS. He was the son of Lane and Mildred Ellington. He married Barbara Sargent on December 23, 1979 in Sioux City.
Lonnie worked at IBP for 20 plus years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing card, gardening, grilling, and watching old western movies on TV. Most of all, Lonnie love spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Barbara; three sons, Bobby (Becky) Ellington of Sioux Falls, Chris (Jeannie) Ellington, and Alfred Ellington; two daughters, Tracy (Siceroe Robinson, Jr.) Starks, Dawn (Tommy Harley) Ellington, all of Sioux City; grandchildren, Brian, Jazman, Veronica, Ocean, Rainbow, Heavenly, Martineus, LaToya, Cierra, Alfred, jr.; step granddaughter, Michelle; great grandchildren, Giavonna, Jayla, Kruse, Eric, Aaliyah, Martel, Mayla, Adaya, Gabrielle; and many other extended family members.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Melvin and John; step brother, Willie; sisters, Pauline, Gloria, and Verlena
