Lois L. Scheer, 65 of Sioux City, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at a local hospital.
Funeral Service will be held 10:30am Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Riverside Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Squires officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, March 16, 2015 at 4pm to 8pm with family present from 6-8 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue.
Lois was born on December 16, 1949 the daughter of Axel and Doris (Kemp) Berg. She attended Riverside High School, later graduated from WITT. Lois was raised in Westfield, Iowa, and in the late 1960’s she moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Lois worked at IBP as a meat cutter, later she work for Gateway and was an instructor at WITT. On July 2, 1983 Lois married Craig Scheer in Dakota City.
She was a member of the Riverside Lutheran Church.
Lois enjoyed playing cards, traveling, gardening and loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by five sons; Chuck Mercer of Sioux City, Shawn (Michele) Countryman of Anamosa, IA, Craig “Boomer” (Brandy) Scheer, Joseph (Lis) Scheer of Sioux City, IA, and Aaron (Christine) Scheer of Brookings, SD, one daughter Melissa (Shawn) Schubert of Sioux City, IA, two brothers; Leonard Berg of Correctionville, IA and Ronald Berg of Westfield, IA, and nine grandchildren.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband Craig who passed in 2010, her brother Axel Berg Jr. and infant sister Gladys Berg.
