Lois K. Porter, age 92, of Holstein, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City died Thursday March 1, 2012 at Good Samaritan Care Center in Holstein.
Funeral services will be held on Monday March 5, 2012 at 10:00am at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff with Pastor Martha Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Holstein cemetery.

Lois was born August 3, 1919 in Holstein, the daughter of Charles and Amelia Lingle. She lived her early years in the Holstein area. She was united in marriage with Gaylen Johnson on April14, 1937 and this union was blessed with two children Eugene Sr. and Karen. The family moved to Sioux City in 1956. Gaylen passed away in 1974.
She then married Clarence “Bub” Porter in 1976 and the family grew with the addition of Bub’s four daughters Sally, Susan, Sandy, and Pam. Clarence died in 2006.
Lois worked as a hostess at the Palmer House for several years, and was very involved the Shrine with both of her husband’s. She loved working in her yard.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Eugene Johnson Jr, Jeanne, Linda, Steve, Jeff, and Debbie, and her four step-daughters Sally Susan, Sandy, and Pam.
