Lois M. Kuhlmann, 58 of Sioux City, died Friday, July 31, 2015 at a local hospital after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held 11 am Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue. Visitation Monday 4-8 pm, with the family present 6-8 pm.
Lois was born on December 26, 1956 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Wilma (Rose) Young. In 1963, the family moved to Sioux City, and in 1975, Lois graduated from East High School.
On May 15, 1976, Lois was united in marriage to Danny Kuhlmann. She worked during the early 1980's at the Holmes Company, then in the late 1980's she owned and ran Kuhlmann Egg Distribution until 1991. Most recently, she worked at the Hy-Vee Store on Gordon as a Direct Store Delivery coordinator.
Lois enjoyed NASCAR and watching drag races, she loved taking her grandchildren on trips, and she was fond of visiting Las Vegas. For many years she was on the bowling league, and played in many championships. She was a member of the Siouxland Mustang Club.
Lois is survived by her husband Danny; two daughters, Charity Kuhlmann of Harrisburg, SD, and Dannel Delier of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Gavin Delier, Gretchen Delier and Danny Ray Cleveland; two brothers, Daren (Priscilla) Young of Sioux City and William Young of Minneapolis, MN; and two sisters, Fay (Brent) Weitzel of Sioux City and Donna Brown of Ft. Dodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
