A celebration of Life service for Lloyd will be held on Thursday September 23, 2010 from 4-8 pm at the American Legion Hall located at 109 East 19th Street in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
Inurnment will be in the Dakota City Cemetery at a later date.
Lloyd was born on July 25, 1929 in Macy, Nebraska, the son of John and Melissa (Funkhouser) Potts. On October 16, 1954, Lloyd was united in marriage to LaDonna Bruneau. Lloyd was employed with Continental Bakers “Wonder Bread” as a baker for 35 years until his retirement in 1983.
After his retirement, Lloyd opened “Potts Bait” shop, which he and LaDonna operated for about 10 years. Recently, Lloyd has been taking care of the 9th Street Car Wash until his health began to fail this past spring.
In his spare time, Lloyd belonged to several pool leagues. He also enjoyed playing darts.
Lloyd is survived by his son Dan Potts and his wife Pam; two daughters, Pam Jacobsen and Carla Kramper; 7 grandchildren, Nicole Wilson, Rachel Potts, Tracy Brandon, Gary Jacobsen, Brandon Jacobsen, Travis Kramper and Kelsey Kramper; 6 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenny, Max and Denny Potts; and four sisters, Dixie True, Sonjia McCandless, Ardie Laird and Penny Whalen.
He was preceded in death by his wife LaDonna, his parents and one great grandchild, Tanner.
