IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lisa Renee
Neddermeyer
July 3, 1966 – September 28, 2025
Lisa Renee (Abshier) Neddermeyer, 59, of Sioux City, IA passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at a local hospital from complications of pulmonary fibrosis while surrounded by her family. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Waterbury Funeral Service, 4125 Orleans Ave., Sioux City, IA. A funeral service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, IA (this service will be live-streamed), followed by burial at Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig, IA.
Born in Keosauqua, Iowa on July 3, 1966, Lisa was a beloved daughter of James and Mary Abshier. She attended Sioux City East Junior High School and graduated from Davenport West High School in 1984, followed by further education at Western Iowa Tech Community College. Lisa met Todd at a house party in Sioux City in 1985. They fell in love and married on November 21, 1989. Lisa and Todd raised their two sons, Cody and Tyler, in Sioux City, and Lisa could never get enough time with her boys, even taking a job at Riverside Elementary to see them in the halls and crack jokes with their teachers. She spent 20 years as a vital member of First Financial Bank working in both customer service and the adjustments department.
Lisa enjoyed spending quality time with her family in Mexico and on Caribbean cruises. To Lisa, the location of the party did not matter as much as laughing and spending time with the people she loved. Her selflessness truly knew no boundaries, always enjoying vacations centered around her family's love of sports. Whether it was long drives to watch baseball games or just watching football together on the weekends, she developed a fondness for sports and competition simply because she loved the connection that it created with her family. Her sons will forever cherish the memories of traveling to St. Louis to cheer on the Cardinals and countless hours spent side-by-side rooting for the Packers and Hawkeyes.
Lisa passed down her love of music to her sons. No matter what song came on the radio, she always seemed to know every word. Her many friends describe her as "a bright spot in everyone's day", "generous and loving", and "always making everyone laugh". She was a woman of ever-changing hairstyles and vibrant flair, whose playful spirit shone through every color and cut — a true original whose style and humor brought joy to all who knew her.
Lisa will be remembered for her warmth, quick wit, and unwavering kindness. Even during her last days, she only thought about how best to care for her sons and ease the pain of her family.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband of over 35 years, Todd; their children Cody (Emily) Neddermeyer of Iowa City and Tyler Neddermeyer of Sioux City. Lisa is also survived by her mother Mary Abshier; sisters: Carol Crabe of Atlanta, Georgia, Peggy Duran of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Jennifer (Tony) Swick of South Sioux City, Nebraska; mother-in-law Carol Neddermeyer of Schleswig, IA; 10 nieces & nephews; and many loving extended family members and friends.
She was welcomed into heaven by her father, Jim Abshier, and her father-in-law, Erv Neddermeyer.
Lisa's family would like to thank the ICU staff at UnityPoint St. Luke's for their care and compassion.
